My Post #2!!!!!!!
OK, so the book is finally over. Overall, i thought it was interesting how it came about. Many of the characters relationships changed like Celie and Mr._____, Celie and Shug and how her and Nettie and her children got together. Which brings me to my final questions. One issue that came up in our groups was if Celie was gay. At first we thought she was straight until she started talking about Shug. So now that Shug screwed her over in the end and she took a liking into Mr.____ because of their shared troubles do you still think she likes girls? Another question is do you think that after everything that happened in the book, she finally has confidence in herself and is able to defend and stand up for herself like she always wanted to. She still calls Mr.____ as she did in the begginning which i thought was going to change. Does everyone still think she fears him?

I think that no matter what happens, Celie will like women more. Although Mr. ___ and Celie were talking and seem to be having a better relationship, Celie still turned down his proposal, and she said it was because when men without pants are just frogs, and no matter what thats all they will be. Another reason is because I feel that Mr. __ and Celie are only close now because they both know how it feels to lose Shug. I do believe that Celie has changed. Although its not every time she calls him but there is one particular time she called Mr. __ Albert when she was talking to Shug telling her that the frog was made from "Albert." I do not believe that she fears anyone anymore. She is finally able to enjoy life.
I agree with Belinda that Celie is always going to be attracted to women. People go through heartbreaks everyday but that does not determine wether or not a person likes men or women. I think Celie will always call Mr._____, Mr._____ becasue it symoblizes how she has no feelings toward him or any other guy. I do not think that Celie still fears Mr._____ becasue Mr.____ and Celie respect each other now.
I agree with both of you that Celie will always like women. You can't just go from being in love with a woman and only finding women attractive to being totally turned off from them. I think that although the heartbreak from Shug made her question herself she will always find herself wanting a woman. I also think that the only reason why Mr.___ and Celie are closer now is because they both still love Shug. They both know what it feels like to be left by her and feel the pain. It is sad that they had to go through it but atleast they have gotten their friendship out of it.
I am not sure if she really fears him anymore. Like, she and him are pretty ok now. I wouldn't call them friends because there are things that you can never forgive, like what Mr. _______ does to her. It seems like she has a laid back attitude with him now. I don't understand how composed she can be while around him after everything he did to her.
I don’t think Cellis fears him anymore because she has strength a power in her voice and personality. I don’t think she likes men but she finds a friend in Mr.____. She will always love Shug.
