Well, this was an interesting book. Did any of you guys predict that Shug would end up leaving Celie? Also, do you think that maybe Shug was able to show Celie how to love even though she turned her back on her? I think that Celie was able to show affection was no longer scared of herself, after Shug opened Celie's eyes. Is there anything you guys wish you could have changed?
Okay like everyone has said the book is finally over. This, to me is when the most questions evolve. Belinda's question was something i wanted to address so I'm glad she did. However, my question is about Shug Avery. Do you think her lifestyle as a singer is the reason for her heart breaking ways? If not what is? I feel Shug has broken both Celie and Mr.____ 's heart with no remorse. Are you guys a fan of Shug Avery or not? If so why or why not. To me, Shug Avery is a selfish women. She just is not the type of person anyone should try to get into a relationship because I don't think she likes the commitment. It is almost like she gets bored. Also, I am interested to see who your favorite characters ended up being ? The book was full of twists I enjoyed reading it. How about you ?

Olinkas

The book is over but I feel that there is some importance that the Olinka people have on the book. Is it a symbol? How do you guys feel about Adam and Tashi. What happens to the other Olinka people since they left? What exactly is the importance of the Olinka people? What do you guys think?

My Post #2!!!!!!!

OK, so the book is finally over. Overall, i thought it was interesting how it came about. Many of the characters relationships changed like Celie and Mr._____, Celie and Shug and how her and Nettie and her children got together. Which brings me to my final questions. One issue that came up in our groups was if Celie was gay. At first we thought she was straight until she started talking about Shug. So now that Shug screwed her over in the end and she took a liking into Mr.____ because of their shared troubles do you still think she likes girls? Another question is do you think that after everything that happened in the book, she finally has confidence in herself and is able to defend and stand up for herself like she always wanted to. She still calls Mr.____ as she did in the begginning which i thought was going to change. Does everyone still think she fears him?

The End

Ok so, the book is finally over. Any last thoughts about it? What did you think about the last line in the book? "Matter of fact, I think this the youngest us ever felt." They know that they are old, so why do you think that they feel like this way? And can anyone clear up the meaning of the picture on the front of the book for me? I still kind of don't understand the meaning of a sunflower with a purple center. Recommend this book to a friend? Hm...? Yes? No? Maybe?

wow!!!

Wow!!! I love this book!!!! Many of our questions were answer but what were your feelings when you were finding out all of this? How did you feel when at one point Cellie mentions that Nettie and her kids were dead? Did u believe it? And what do you guys think about Cellies relationship with Mr.____? And the ending!!! Wow it was a great ending. What do you guys think?
