I liked the beginning of the last letter. "Dear God. Dear stars, dear trees..." It was a really good way to get her point across. She was trying to say that God is not just one person but instead is everywhere. The ending, to be honest, I kind of thought it was a little boring. I like twisty endings more, kind of like in "A Tale of Two Cities." That ending was awesome. Oh well, books finally done...yay! :)

Wow! Right when i began to like Shug Avery she screws poor Celie. Once again Celie is forced to face another hardship. I think this book shows the humor of life in away becasue Celie ends up taking a liking to Mr.____ becasue they both have to expierence the hardest pain, a broken heart. I agree with Johnathan about liking the beginning of the last letter. The book was full of twists and im surprised the ending didn't not have more surprises.

i agree with both jonathan and casey about the ending. it was kind of unexpected the way her relationship with mr.____ turned out, i never would have guessed that they would become closer towards the end considering all of our predictions about her leaving him with help pfrom shug. I think it would be interesting to see if there is a a follow-up book to find out if shug comes back in there lives like she did with mr. ____ in the beginning of this book.

with the mention of the death of Nettie and Celie's children, at first I didnt believe it because I realized that although they said that they were dead, Celie was still receiving letters from Nettie. I do believe that the relationship with Mr. ___ is amazing. She is able to call him by his first name now because I feel that she no longer hates him and is no longer dependent on anyone. I thought the ending was very satisfying. I always wondered how Nettie will turn out and how she will show up.

This was really unexpected! I could not believe that Shug would do that to Celie. She shared so many good times with her and then just screwed her over just like everyone else in her life. For some reason I predicted for this book to have a lot of problems to be faced, but just not THIS many! I liked the heading of the last letter, also. I thought it was a good idea to explain Celie's true feelings towards God and was able to not loose her religon, but see it in a different view.
