The End

Ok so, the book is finally over. Any last thoughts about it? What did you think about the last line in the book? "Matter of fact, I think this the youngest us ever felt." They know that they are old, so why do you think that they feel like this way? And can anyone clear up the meaning of the picture on the front of the book for me? I still kind of don't understand the meaning of a sunflower with a purple center. Recommend this book to a friend? Hm...? Yes? No? Maybe?

Well, that was a question of mine to about the last sentence of the book. However, i think that the youth of Celie came out when she saw her children and her sister becasue she was relieved and happy. Now that her family is back in her life i think Celie's bad streak is over this time becasue she is finally with her children. I think for awhile there her life was ripped apart when she has to marry Mr.____ and now she feels young again becasue she is picking up where her life left off. As for the picture on the cover i feel like Celie is the symbol of the color purple becasue she holds a hidden beauty.

I totally agree with casey about the "hidden beauty" in the sunflower because i thought that it represented something rare. you dont see a purple sunflower around anywhere so i took it as unique like celie's life was and her relationships with other characters in the book like mr._____. AS for recomendations, i would recomend this book to others. i think that its interesting to find the plot line and how celie ended up liking shug and the issue with her kids and her father actually being her stepfather.

The last line of the book seems to tell me that because everyone was so busy worrying about life with all the stress and drama going on they were never really able to enjoy it until now, and when else do you enjoy your life the most when you are young, or when you feel young. I feel that the purple sunflower in the front of the book symbolizes the phrase that connects Nettie telling Celie about God and who he really is, stating that he would have been mad if there was a purple sunflower in the field and no one noticed. I think the sunflower is like Celie in a way, the older and larger it grows, the more it understands and starts to bloom, it only grows in the direction of the sun, like Celie although things were going wrong she still found her way following her sun which is her feelings for Shug, Nettie, and understanding the society and roles of women. I will definitely recommend this book to a friend. It was a quick read and the story itself is addicting.

I would recommend this book because it was interesting and a very fast book that I did not want to put down. I think that the cover of the book has to do with Celie's change and who she was inside. I hope that Celie's life is changing for the better. In the end all she wanted was to be part of a family and now she finally is. I was kind of happy when she started being friends and closer to Mr.___ just because deep down inside I think that Celie really did care about him, if not sexually or romantically but on a friendship level. It was a sad but happy ending..

I think they felt that way because it’s been the happiest they ever been. I would recommend this book t any one. T has become one of my favorite books. I think they just used the flower to symbolize the color purple.
